École Secondaire Renaissance
With the opening of Renaissance Secondary School at the dawn of a new millenium, the students of Timmins, Ontario were introduced to a new model of education which combined junior and senior grades into a fully integrated teaching environment; a platform for apprenticeship through
interaction between the student body as well as partnerships with the community. The vision was developed around the framework of a dynamic curriculum supported by an equally dynamic architecture.
The school’s name inspired an architecture so as to provide a “re-birth of the senses”. The interior spaces aspire to provide the dynamic framework that will motivate creativity, discovery and learning; a place that will excite the curiosity of the students.
